Marbles Kids Museum
Marble Kids Museum can be best described as a fun and educational museum that gives children the opportunity to learn a variety of things through participation in innovative hands-on exhibits and award-winning programs. Marbles has been serving a diverse population of school groups, families, and community organizations since its inception on September 29, 2007.
The museum particularly aims to help educate and spark the imagination of young minds through play. The people running the state-of-the-art facility believe that play builds intellectual, emotional, and social skill for success in learning and in life. After all, play teaches collaboration and cooperation, helping strengthen families and uniting the community. They are also of the opinion that play can encourage creativity, imagination, and self-expression and promote good health and overall physical development.
The museum is located in E Hargett St, Raleigh, NC 27601.
Raleigh’s Kids Museum
As we mentioned earlier, there are plenty of activities and fun programs kids can partake in. The most famous, “Play in around town” gives children a sense of responsibility and gives them the power and control to play around in an organized setting. For instance, they can lead trains over the river and through the woods. They can also don the hat of a fisherman and go fishing. In addition to that, it is also possible for them to go on a jungle safari, and explore the land of the dinosaurs. Or, they can simply opt to have fun on the farm with tabletop play scenarios. Basically, in the “Play in around town” program, the kids are given the opportunity to play any adult-like role. Some even pretend to be doctors, caregivers, or nurses caring for newborns, reading x-rays and mending broken bones.
There is also a program titled, “Seedlings,” that can be quite educational for young minds. In that fun program, children get the chance to plant vegetables, fruits, and colorful flowers. They get to water, mulch, and care for their greenhouse treasures, then head out to Sun Sprouts to see how the plants grow.
While there, we would definitely recommend you to take your child to Marbles IMAX as well. This particular IMAX theatre is North Carolina´s only certified 3D-capable giant screen in the heart of downtown Raleigh. Featuring a screen size of 70´ X 50´ and boasting of over 24,000 watts of premium sound clarity, the IMAX theatre shows a wide range of inspiring educational documentaries and Hollywood blockbusters.
Of course, it also helps that the museum has its own café that boasts of a fresh and fun menu with delicious choices for the entire family. Check out: Pullen Park
