William B. Umstead State Park

William B. Umstead State Park is located in Wake County, North Carolina and it is renowned for having an impressive network of hiking and multi-use trails. Spread over an area of a whopping 5,599 acres, the park is nestled between the growing cities of Cary, Raleigh, Durham, and North Carolina. The trailheads on both sides of the park surround three manmade lakes. The largest, known as Big Lake, is over 55-acres huge, and it provides canoe and rowboat rentals. The trails and other features

It is because there are close to 13 miles of multi-use trails that permit cycling and horseback riding and most of the multi-use trails travel through some of the most picturesque and isolated areas of the park.
